Positivity Is Slowly Killing You

Why are you doing this to you? Why are you doing this to your life, first and foremost?

Especially during these proving times there are people that have the courage to tell you that you should “take it easy” , “take your time and cope with the stress”…

Why do you keep on listening to them?

I say : fuck that.

Pardon my language or not, i don’t care, BUT… do you really think that is the case to follow that lighthearted advice?

We’re in the middle of one of the most crazy crisis the world has ever known…and you heed the words of a random snowflake telling you that is “OK” to relax?

Why aren’t you improving yourself instead with all this time on your hands? THAT’S WHAT YOU SHOULD BE DOING.

Improving your flaws.

Improving your body.

Your finances.

Your life.

Don’t fall prey to this “fake” positivity stuff.
It’s damaging.

They’re telling you this because they probably have nothing going on in their lives as well.

They’re basically telling you that is ok to waste countless hours watching Netflix and playing videogames while the world is going to hell.

Yeah because being prepared to face life and uncomfortable situations is too big of a hassle, better wait until things are on your doorstep and it’s too late to do anything, while depression cripples on you.

I’ve always hated this fake positivity that some people so desperately try to force on themselves and others, because it clouds people’s judgement in favor of a nonexistent and “avoid-all-problems” mindset.

Your problems are not going away with positivity and kind words.

But they won’t tell you that.

You see,
It doesn’t benefit to their persona, their following.

Yet you fall for their honey words, why?

I DARE YOU tell me that i’m wrong, when i’m just laying out the truth in front of your eyes.

“Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! Now if you know what you’re worth then go out and get what you’re worth. But ya gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody! Cowards do that and that ain’t you! You’re better than that!”

-Rocky Balboa

I think you know where that line is from, don’t you?

It pretty much sums up what i feel, and why i think a positive mindset is good to have ONLY if you are willing NOT to ignore and sweep your flaws and problems under the rug with the excuse of being “positive”.

It’s time for you to start thinking AND feeling for yourself, stop being a god damn puppet.

That’s all I wanted to say.

  1. Doom and gloom!! Boo! Why have that mindset? Here’s the thing.. being positive has nothing to do with overlooking anything. It’s making the best of a really messed up crazy chaotic situation. It’s kinda like why freak out and go nuts when you still have a great life to live. Yeah we’re in isolation. The world is in crisis. That doesn’t mean I can’t extend my hand and be kind to someone that needs it. Having a negative doomsday mindset does no good for anybody. And being positive doesn’t mean I’m overlooking my flaws by any means. I just choose not to dwell on the darkness of it all. What God does that do? You can still live in reality and have fun at the same time and help people with their issues. When I help somebody, it reminds me that I’m still capable of human compassion. It helps me feel better about my “flaws” as well. That’s my humble opinion.

    1. I see your point. But my topic is not aimed towards “general” positivity.

Positivity overall it’s a great thing.

What i’m bashing here is using positivity as an EXCUSE, because some people think it’s ok to use it as a scapegoat in order to avoid work & taking this chance to make order in their life.

Here i’m particularly against people that preach that EXACT THING and frame it something like this: “Hey honey it’s ok to feel down and take care of yourself don’t worry , have your comfort food and forget about everything”

Something like this, instead is quite better: “Hey, it’s ok to feel down. Just remember that if you work through your problems without giving up you can do it”

      Do you see the difference?

What i’m blaming is a person (usually an influencer) masking something BAD AND LAZY as something “good”.

  2. Gotcha. Misunderstood. I think at some point people do have to stop making excuses for being lazy or unmotivated or whatever the case may be. I totally agree with the concept of dealing with our issues. The struggle with that is that some of us (me) never really learned HOW to be healthy and not just do the same routine. I, for one, have been stuck in a very vicious self loathing cycle for some years now. It’s not just a switch you can make instantly. It takes ALOT of time and effort and training yourself to do something different. And it usually takes some help as well. When you don’t know how to do something that you’ve never done, you have to be taught. The right way. In your specific learning language to defeat those obstacles and be the healthy person that’s ready for action.
